We need many volunteers to provide manual labor to move and place the materials. Several Club members will be operating the front-end loader and bulldozer(s) that will be doing most of the heavy lifting, moving, and digging. The fun will begin at 8am on Saturday with the usual carbo-loading donuts, muffins, and coffee. This also will be a great opportunity to work off those pounds members gained at the Lobster Bake (huge thanks to Matt Minson, Courtney Babyak, and a host of volunteers who set up, cooked, served, and cleaned up) last Saturday. The terrace is the final piece to the plans that were designed several years ago for our "new" Clubhouse.
Please consider helping for an hour or for as long as you can devote on Saturday and/or Sunday. With many hands (with work gloves) helping, we can make great progress. The City of South Portland Planning Board specified that we had to complete the project within 90 days of their approval and we have about 60 days left. Starting the project this weekend will get 90% of the work done and will allow us to only have to rent the heavy equipment for a couple of days.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide this weekend. We hope to see you at the Club at 8am or at any time throughout the weekend.
