Thinking of Ansel Tupper
I was very sorry to read about Ansel Tupper's death - he was a truly generous man - the first person, in fact, we met when joining CYC back in 2002. He interviewed us for membership, then was very kind in showing us the ropes after we joined. A true gentleman, he'll always be equated with the Club for us. I hope that wherever he is, he's boating!

If you look at the Wednesday Night Races trophy on the clubhouse wall you will see his name many times. When I started racing, "Tup" was the guy we looked for when we were unsure of our strategy. He always knew how to use the current or where the wind would be strongest. He taught us all a lot about sailing and being a friend.
