As I hope you know by now, a vote on the building project will be held on Wednesday. If you are planning on mailing your vote in, you will need to get it mailed first thing this week in order to make sure it is received on Wednesday.

What I have written below is just my opinion. I have been involved with this process for the past 3 years as a member of the bridge. As was pointed out at the last trustees meeting, I am part of the leadership and I share in the failure of…

Some long term questions

As many of you are likely aware, the process for updating, beautifying, and maintaining the facilities at CYC began years ago. Commodore's Summary of the Past Commodore's Lobster Stew & December Club Meeting

We had a very nice turnout on Friday evening for the Past Commodore's Lobster Stew event. There were 72 people in attendance. Dick Ingalls, Jack Callahan and Guy Gledhill led the kitchen effort with Mike Snow, Andy Howe, Tom Dobbins, Chuck Barr, and Paul Morin assisting. All the other PC's who attended lent a hand service the stew and cleaning up. We gave out every drop of stew and all the comments about the meal were positive.

2010 Northeast Harbor Race

This year's the Centerboard Yacht Club Northeast Harbor Race was a great success. We had 13 boats in 3 divisions racing 100 miles from Portland to Mount Desert Island. The fleet took off on Friday in a steady westerly breeze that quickly swung around to the southwest sea breeze. For a little while you could see boats with spinnakers on the same course as boats close-hauled.

Sunset saw Sequin fading behind and Monhegan abeam for most of the fleet. The wind started back around to the… Continue

Spring Work Party Wrap Ups and Chamburger Party

Last Saturday's floats in and the Chamburger Party were two great events that kicked the season off to an energizing start.

The work parties finished with a great turn out of 48 members! Over the 5 weekends we had 71 members participate, pretty good turnout. We got a lot done and I appreciate all the help and assistance everyone provided.

Later that evening we had the Chamburger party. We had about 80 people attend and the clubhouse was a buzz with people talking about the… Continue
