Gregg Carville Spring Work Party Wrap Ups and Chamburger Party

Last Saturday's floats in and the Chamburger Party were two great events that kicked the season off to an energizing start.

The work parties finished with a great turn out of 48 members! Over the 5 weekends we had 71 members participate, pretty good turnout. We got a lot done and I appreciate all the help and assistance everyone provided.

Later that evening we had the Chamburger party. We had about 80 people attend and the clubhouse was a buzz with people talking about the upc… Continue

Gregg Carville Floats In and Chamburger Party

Help get the season off to a great start this Saturday. In the morning (0900) we launch the floats, a great exercise in teamwork as the members all work together to get our docks in a row...

Mark this event with the chamburger party at 1800. Have a hamburger and some bubbly to celebrate the start of the season. Bring a side or dessert to share, CYC provides the burgers and champagne.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Bob and Susan Vautin Auction Results!

We had a great Auction on Saturday April 10th and I would like to thank all of the members that attended and participated along with all of the organizations and members that donated items.

It was a fun evening for all starting with a cocktail hour and pot-luck dinner. Guy Gledhill was our auctioneer and provided the entertainment for the evening!

We grossed approximately $1800 and donated the net proceeds to Project Compass and to the Friends of Casco Bay (Baykeeper).

Arnie Hoffman/Marjory Gold Just when you thought it was safe to go in the water!

I was working on Soroki at the end of the dock this afternoon and was adjusting the fenders when I saw something in the water between the hull and the dock. At first I thought it was a dark colored baseball cap, half under water. I knealt down to get a better look and couldn't believe my eyes. It was a turtle, a good sized one at that, at least a foot from nose to tail. It looked lifeless so I reached down and lifted it out by one of its legs, only to discover it was a fresh water snapping turtl… Continue
