The annual cruise is an excellent way to explore parts of the spectacular Maine coast and to perfect your boating skills while in the great company of fellow club members. Each year we try to vary the cruise to keep it interesting to return cruisers while returning to one or two favorite ports. I have been a cruiser for the past 16 years and had very little racing experience – to be honest, the start line still scares the heck out of me. Northeast Harbor Race at Gulf of Maine

On August 27th sailors will depart Portland from Maine Yacht Center in the 3rd Northeast Harbor Race. They will be sailing east towards Penobscot Bay and Mt. Desert Island. Friday's sunset will fade behind them as a full moon illuminates the night. Matinicus will appear on the horizon thru the sunrise as they head to the finish of this 100 mile odyssey. I wanted to let people know that I will be heading up to Penobscot Bay from July 17th to August 7th or so - I don't have a set itinerary yet but I'll probably be using Rockland and Belfast as my bases to pick up and drop off crew - I would love to connect with others in the area. Trustees Meeting, Thursday, January 26, 2012 1900 We had a good meeting on a cold and wet evening. There were 3 trustees absent.
