Centerboard Yacht Club

South Portland, Maine

Transient Info

Centerboard Yacht Club welcomes guests for overnight stays in Portland Harbor.  Moorings are available on a first come first served basis.  Please Contact Us for mooring availability on the day of your arrival.  We can generally accommodate boats up to 40ft. and drawing no more than 8ft. depending on availability.

Moorings are free. A $30/night facility fee includes the following:

  • Use of our shoreside facilities(TV, stereo, BBQ grills, kitchen, etc)
  • Laundry
  • Shower
  • Launch(our launch is limited to 6 persons per trip, please respect this rule and do not impose on our stewards to break it)
  • Wireless internet in our clubhouse(see the stewards for password)
  • Water at our docks(see note below)
  • Free long distance calling

There are trash and recycling bins at our steward's shed for your convenience.

Ice can be purchased for $2.00 for either cubes or blocks.  Soda is also available for $.50 from our vending machine.

Our Launch drivers would be happy to ferry you to our club or across the harbor to Portland.  Please hail them on channel 68 and clearly state “Centerboard Yacht Club Launch” to avoid confusion with our neighbors in Falmouth at PYC.

Grocery shopping can be done in South Portland at the local Hannaford.  Please ask our stewards for directions or to arrange a taxi ride.  It is just over one mile from the club.

Note:  Our docks have a depth of approximately 4 ft. at low so use caution approaching at low tide.  See stewards for more info.

If you happen to be staying with us on a Wed. night, feel free to join our weekly race series as skipper, crew or just to have dinner with us afterwards.  We usually meet on shore between 5:00 and 5:30.  First gun is at 6:00.

You will find Centerboard to be a warm and welcoming club.  Expect members to introduce themselves to you and ask you about your travels.  We love to talk boating!
