Centerboard Yacht Club

South Portland, Maine

Club Usage

The Club may be used by members and non-members, as outlined below, during the off-season which is defined as beginning after the last work party and ending prior to the first work party or as best determined by the Rear Commodore and the House Committee.  No exclusive or reservable functions may be held at the Club beginning with the first work party in March through Floats out or the last work party of the season, which ever is later.

  • Hosted Event:  A “Hosted Event” (formerly known as a “member rental”) is a reservable and exclusive event hosted by a Club member for the member or an immediate family member, where the member will be present during the entire function.  The reservation for a Hosted Event will be for 24 hours (from noon to noon) and the facility will be expected to be cleaned prior to the noon deadline.  The cost for a Hosted event will be $125.   A $200 deposit will be collected as part of the rental agreement which will be returned following the rental so long as the facility is returned to a clean and tidy state, per the rental checklist, immediately following the event.

  • Sponsored Event:  A “Sponsored Event” (formerly known as a “non-member rental”) is a reservable and exclusive event sponsored by a member for a business, club, or relative where the member will make arrangements for the rental and be present before and after the rental to insure that the facility is left in good repair.   The reservation for a Hosted Event will be for 24 hours (from noon to noon) and the facility will be expected to be cleaned prior to the noon deadline.  The cost for a Sponsored event will be $250.  Additionally, a $200 deposit will be collected from the sponsoring member as part of the rental agreement which will be returned following the rental so long as the facility is left in a clean and tidy state, per the rental checklist, immediately following the event.

  • Non-Reservable:  A non-exclusive gathering of up to 20 Club members and guests will be permitted without a rental fee as long as it does not conflict with a Hosted or Sponsored rental or other Club function (as scheduled on the web site calendar). The club and all of it’s facilities must remain open and available to all Club members.  It is expected that the Club members present will return the facility to a clean and tidy state (refer to Checklist at the Club) immediately following the event.  Failure to do so, may result in a fine and/or suspension of the use of the facility as determined by the Trustees.
